Position Available: August 2012-May 2013
*Some minimal summer training required for Resource Center Duties
Duration of Position: 9 months
Hours per Week: 15-20 (Some Day and Evening Required)
Description:
1. To maintain the circulation desk in the School of Educations lower Resource/Media Center which includes the following responsibilities:
Ensuring that all books, periodicals and other resources remain organized and in their correct locations.
Assist students and faculty with reference questions
Checking in and checking out circulating library materials
Contact library users with overdue materials and materials on hold
Assures all Resource Center users are properly registered to check out library material.
Maintain data for the School of Education on monthly circulation reports
2. To work with undergraduate and graduate faculty engaged in educational research in the following areas:
Assist with conducting literature reviews of research topics
Assist in the collection and analysis of data
Assist faculty in design and maintenance of online surveys and databases
Edit or proofread manuscripts for publication
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity
Required abilities and dispositions:
High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation; ability to take 
responsibility in meeting deadlines and taking initiative without direct supervision.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills; readiness to interact daily with students, faculty, and public school guests
Professional dress suitable for the position described
To Apply, Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be enrolled or accepted into the HPU School of Education M.Ed. programs in Elementary Education or Educational Leadership.
Willingness to complete a Graduate Assistant Interview during the week of May 14th-18th, 2012
Willingness to complete summer training with the Director of Library Services
Have demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work with students and faculty in the School of Education
Minimum GPA of 3.0 and the potential for scholarship and educational research
